There are folders within the M:EE structure that even allow you to create a pack and not have it linked to a world making editing it way easier, but there are always ways and means to achieve your goals. If that doesn't really help reach out and we can make a time to get together to show you the workflow I use. I think this video may help you get started with it (I only made it unlisted for you, it is not a polished video, but a twitch stream capture). So Please show me a better way.Īleece Landis I am going to rock your world!! You can most certainly create custom BP's for M:EE. Now I've just been stumbling through this on my own trying to glean information from web sites and YouTube so it could well be that it can be done much easier than this.
#MINECRAFT 1.11.2 COMMAND BLOCK COMMANDS ZIP#
deactivate it, delete it from storage, and with the original re name to a zip file, unzip, find the functions folder and put my own function file in it, then zip it back up and re.name it then import it.Īnd if I need to make any changes, I basically have to go through the whole process again which gets really tedious for testing.ĪND, if using the function file is taking over most of the load of command blocks, I need to make sure any students downloading the world have that behavior pack installed. As far as I've been able to figure out, I can find some behavior pack that works in EE.
#MINECRAFT 1.11.2 COMMAND BLOCK COMMANDS HOW TO#
My main problem with trying to use functions is that in Education edition they don't really support custom behavior packs so don't really give instructions on how to do it.
About all we can do with a setblock command_block here is say which way is up. Stephen Elford and Chris Fuge I just watched one of Elfie's videos from a couple years ago that you guys did explaining how to use the score board.Įlfie, I did finally realize that I could not place command blocks with the data inside. I think it might be really helpful to have a Technical Education Minecraft section (not technical problems) but advanced commands, coding and redstone help for aspiring map/lesson makers.Īlso, what is the difference between a world file and a template file? How does one create a template file for their students. Actually Mr Fuge provided me with a student plots world which was great, what I really need now is a tutorial about HOW he created it so I can understand and be able to apply the principals for future builds. And Chris Fuge was involved in one that I saw.
EduElfie, I don't know if that is Stephen Elford or not posted a bunch of really helpful videos. Now 2-3 years ago there were some global minecraft education mentors making videos and I saw one where there were schematics available to put into the world and they could be used for tests and quizzes in Minecraft edcuation but I never found how to use or access that functionality. SO if they ever fully implement being able to use structure blocks in education edition, we should be able to create our command block platform once and hopefully from there we could save that structure for use in future builds. Now over in Bedrock I was testing the structure block and I was able to copy and paste a structure with a command block and the command did copy. (I guess that is why one command block creations can exist in Java but won't work in bedrock.) I actually want to learn HOW to do it myself so I can use the knowledge to expand MY capabilities to create new alexander I fear the problem lies in that additional information to manipulate the command block is NBT data and while Java minecraft allows access to the NBT data, apparently Bedrock does not. But I'm not wanting you to just Give or Create things for me.
